Standard MusicMotive trading terms & conditions

Lessons can be booked individually, or by term blocks (approximately 10 weeks). Mid-term bookings for lessons by term are charged pro-rata for the remainder of the current term. All bookings must be made through MusicMotive, tutors cannot accept bookings in any way whatsoever for current students or new students on behalf of MusicMotive.

When a tutor travels to the student’s location for tuition, a $5.00 (inc. GST) travel fee will be added to the lesson fee. If more than one lesson is booked consecutively in the same location, the travel fee will apply to the first lesson only.

Individual bookings – Upon completion of the lesson(s), it is assumed that tuition will not continue unless MusicMotive is advised of further lessons. If further lessons are required, a new invoice will be emailed to you and payment will need to be received before further lessons are given.

Term bookings – An invoice will be emailed to you two weeks before the end of the current term for the following term’s payment. To continue tuition, payment must be made by the due date, which is clearly marked on the invoice. Unpaid invoices will result in the following term’s reservation being cancelled and your tutor and time slot may be offered to another student.

If a student wishes to cease tuition, this may only be done upon completion of lessons already booked. You may notify MusicMotive at any time during the booking if you wish to cease tuition. MusicMotive must be notified by the student, it is not sufficient for the student to only contact their tutor.

MusicMotive operates as per the NSW public school terms. To view NSW public school terms dates, please visit: http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/events/vacations.html

All prices quoted on our website include GST. The rates, services and facilities of some of our tutors may vary. Prices are subject to change without notice.

MusicMotive requires all tuition fees to be paid in full up-front, no lessons will be given until all fees are paid. An invoice will be emailed to you prior to lessons commencing, detailing the requested tuition. Invoices are to be paid by the due date which is clearly marked on the invoice.

Payments can be made by Direct Deposit or Cheque. All cheques must be payable to ‘MusicMotive’ and mailed to PO Box 106, Roseville NSW 2069. When paying by Direct Deposit, please ensure that the description clearly states your invoice number, e.g. INV0001 . Due to the high volume of Direct Deposit payments that we receive, it is not possible to track a payment without the invoice number. Tutors cannot receive any payments from students onbehalf of MusicMotive.

At least 24 hours notice must be given to the tutor by phone if cancelled lessons are to be considered for a make-up lesson. Please contact your tutor regarding lesson cancellations and scheduling of make-up lessons, the tutor will then advise MusicMotive.

If a student does not arrange for their make-up lesson within this timeframe it will be deemed void. No credits or refunds will be given on unredeemed make-up lessons when the student has cancelled the lesson. Students wishing to book a make-up lesson need to contact their tutor to arrange a time. Make-up lessons will be conducted throughout the term depending on the availability of tutors and students. It is the student’s responsibility to book make-up lessons; neither MusicMotive or the tutor will send reminders for make-up lessons owed.

All MusicMotive tutors have undergone a selection process and have been carefully chosen because of their teaching skills, musical abilities and professionalism. MusicMotive will, where possible, retain the same tutor for a student each term, however in some circumstances a tutor may become unavailable.

All MusicMotive tutors have been screened with the Working with Children Safety Check under the Child Protection Act. MusicMotive considers child protection to be an important issue and all tutors have an understanding of the duty of care towards the students they teach.

If a tutor is away or sick for an extended period of time, MusicMotive will, where possible, substitute a temporary tutor for lessons rather than have students miss lessons. All temporary tutors have been selected as per the MusicMotive application process which includes screening under the Child Protection Act.

MusicMotive tutors only provide supervision for students during their allocated lesson time. For lessons taking place at a tutor’s premises, students must be picked up immediately at the completion of their lesson time. If a student arrives onsite before their lesson time, or stays onsite after their lesson time, they are not the responsibility of MusicMotive or the tutor.
